Optimization and Analysis of Liquid Anaerobic Co-Digestion of Agro-Industrial Wastes via Mixture Design

Anaerobic co-digestion (AcoD) is a widely employed technique to produce biogas from simultaneous digestion of various biomasses. However, the selection optimal proportions substrates in mixtures presents challenge. This research used mixture design investigate interactions between liquid fraction piglet manure (PM), cow (CWM), and starch wastewater (SWW). A modified Gompertz model was identify statistically significant parameters methane production curves. The compositions were identified based on multi-objective optimization maximal yield (YCH4) specific rate (rCH4) parameters. study validated using double PM CWM triple mixture. estimated degradation rates for both faster than predicted ones. absolute relative errors rCH4 27.41% 5.59% mixture, while YCH4 4.64% 10.05% These are within normal limits process with high variability like AD. Thus, supported by tested models suitable definition practically advisable substrates.
